A review & demo of my 2017 Exotic Series Fender Malaysian Blackwood Telecaster. A departure from Fender’s traditional tone wood choices, the 2017 Limited Edition Malaysian Blackwood Telecaster enhances the traditional Tele style with the elegant look of a Malaysian Blackwood top. Strong and dense, Malaysian Bblackwood has plenty of sustain, perfect for soaring lead lines and raucous rhythm work.

For authentic, vintage-inspired tone, the 2017 Limited Edition Malaysian Blackwood Telecaster is loaded with two JP-90 single-coil pickups. Topped by 22 narrow-tall frets for easy bending, the 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard is ideal for most playing styles, offering enough arc for comfortable chording while remaining flat enough for wide bends.

The custom string-through-body short-plate Tele bridge features compensated brass saddles for accurate intonation along the entire length of the neck. With its authentic, original-era sound and style, the 2017 Limited Edition Malaysian Blackwood Telecaster is a rare, inspiring example of Fender’s world-class craftsmanship. The Malaysian Blackwood 90 Telecaster is part of Fenders 2017 Exotic Wood Collection of guitars.

In 2015 Fender teamed up with Transport for London to produce a run of Stratocasters featuring the London Underground Tube Map. The collaboration was part of TfL's Transport by Design campaign. Initially a run of 50 guitars were produced.

The Mexican made Standard Stratocaster featured a maple neck on an alder bofy that was finished in Olympic White on the reverse side and the London Tube Map on the front. The pickguard matched the guitar's body to complete the Tube Map design. The reverse of the  headstock featured a London Underground medallion and the guitar's four bolt neck plate was also engraved with the Underground Logo.

After the initial run of 50 guitars, a further run of 100 was produced in mid to late 2016.

This was the second time that Fender had teamed up with Transport for London, in 2014 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Stratocaster and the iconic Routemaster double decker bus a run of 50 Routemaster Stratocasters was produced.

A review & demo of a 2002 Fender Crafted in Japan Blue Flower Telecaster. Would you believe that the design was originally a wallpaper design!!!!

It was issued at the same time as Fender issued the Pink Paisley Telecaster. They gave a model to James Burton who was Elvis' guitarist at the time.

Made of basswood, the neck and fretboard are made from maple. The pickguard is clear plexiglass with a blue tint around the neck pickup hole so that it matched the rest of the guitars edging but also covers the neck pickup rout and truss rod access cut out.

You can find out more information as well as the full specifications of the guitar on my website at: http://www.2tuguitars.com/blue-flower-telecaster.html

A review & demo of a 2002 Fender Crafted in Japan Pink Paisley Telecaster. The Pink Paisley Telecaster first emerged in the late sixties. Initially the Pink Paisley design was only available on the Telecaster. Would you believe that the design was originally a wallpaper design!!!!

It was issued at the same time as Fender issued the Blue Flower Telecaster. James Burton who was Elvis' guitarist at the time was searching for a new guitar and he came across a Pink Paisley model. He wasn't sure if the King was going to like it but when he showed the King the guitar, Elvis was impressed.

Made of basswood, the neck and fretboard are made from maple. The pickguard is clear plexiglass with a pink tint around the neck pickup hole so that it matches the rest of the guitars edging but also covers the neck pickup rout and truss rod access cut out.

The Pink paisley telecaster are reissued with some regularity from Fender Japan and as of 2018 they are marketed under the Japan Exclusives range.

A review & demo of a 2006 Fender Koa Telecaster. This Special Edition Koa Telecaster electric guitar combines vintage purity and a custom look.

The Koa top, with its beautiful grain visible through an antique burst finish, lends a look of understated elegance that is enhanced by a birdseye maple neck. Its other features are a mix of modern and vintage: modern C-shape neck profile, vintage-style 3-saddle bridge, Seymour Duncan pickups, oversized strap buttons, rosewood fretboard with medium jumbo frets and pearl dots, and a single-ply black pickguard.

It's a Tele anyone can love: uptown yet true to its roots.

Koa is only found in Hawaii.

A review & demo of a 2016 Fender Classic Series 70s Stratocaster.

The Classic Series 70s Stratocaster brings the 70s vibe back to the future. Made at Fender’s Mexican plant in Ensenada it features a classic 70s natural finish with white plastic parts with a large CBS style headstock, bullet truss rod, U shaped neck profile, a three bolt neck plate and 70s style F engraved tuners to round out the look of this faithful representation of a 70s Strat.

These guitars were available with either a rosewood or maple fingerboard on a maple neck. In 2017 the rosewood option was substituted for Pau Ferro. In the past they have been available in Natural, Black Sunburst and White finishes.

A review & demo of a 2017 Fender Japan Exclusive Classic Series 70s Telecaster. On April 1st 2015, Fender took over the running of Fender Japan, standardising the global brand. Japan has a long history in with Fender dating back to the early 1980s when the Bill Schultz led team bought the company from CBS. It is no stretch to say that if it were not for Japan to plug the gap until American production started Fender may not be with us today.

The *New* Fender Japan sells all the old Fender Japan guitars under the JAPAN EXCLUSIVE SERIES and they are currently made by Dyna-Gakki

Fender Japan, Ltd. was the joint-venture established in 1982 between Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, Kanda Shokai and Yamano Gakki, which operated the Japanese business of Fender musical instruments from 1982 to 2015. The venture involved the domestic production and sale of Fender instruments for the Japanese market.

From 1982 until 1997 they were made by FUJIGEN and the guitars carried the *Made in Japan* inscription, When production started to shift from the Fujigen factory to other factories the inscription changed to *Crafted in Japan* from 1996/1997 until approx  2010 the guitars were made by TOKAI & DYNA. Since 2010 only Dyna-Gakki has made them.

The Classic Series 70s Japan Exclusive telecaster inherited the specifications of the (old) Fender Japan TL-71 ASH Telecaster model. Featuring an ash body, one strings guide, modern CBS logo reprinted specs of 1971 at that time. The nut width is about 41 mm and it is a slightly slimmer neck, and the punchy sound by the ferrite magnet pickup will be active in a wide range of genres.

You can find out more information as well as the full specifications of the guitar on my website at: http://www.2tuguitars.com/classic-series-70s-telecaster.html
