A review and demo of Fender’s 2014 Limited Edition Reclaimed Eastern Pine Telecaster. Introduced in May 2014 January 2010 and Made in America.
Fender’s Special Edition Reclaimed Eastern Pine Telecaster has a distinctively rustic look and elegant charm, with a body fashioned from reclaimed pine originally used in 1868 in the construction of a dairy barn in the small rural community of Lake Odessa, Michigan, USA. The knots, gashes, dings and other anomalies in the wood are left intact and unconcealed, so that no two guitars in this limited-number issue are identical. Further emphasizing the guitar’s one-of-a-kind appearance are a dark satin lacquer stain that accentuates the beauty of the body wood, hardware specially treated to appear slightly worn, and a rosewood neck with a hand-rubbed oil finish and comfortable “modern C”-shaped profile. Other features include 9.5”-radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, Texas Special™ single-coil (neck) and Fender Custom Shop single-coil Broadcaster (bridge) pickups, special four-way switching (including both pickups in series), Master volume and “no-load” master tone controls, “unbuffed” single-ply black pickguard, American Standard string-through-body bridge with six bent-steel saddles and “Fender”-stamped chromed brass plate, Micro-Tilt™ neck adjustment, Laser-etched headstock logo, Hard-shell case, Strap, Cable, Polishing cloth. A very Limited Edition Telecaster. Fender UK have informed me that only 70 were made worldwide with 30 crossing the pond to Europe with no more than 7 Telecasters coming into the UK. No two guitars are the same.
