5 quick differences between the Fender American Special Series Stratocaster and the new Fender American Performer Series Stratocaster. The Fender American Special Series has been part of the Fender Catalogue for the past eight years. It was introduced as a direct replacement for the Highway One series of guitars. ‘Hand Crafted’ at Fender USA plant in Carona, California the series remains the most affordable USA made guitars. Over the few years Fender has been actively revamping and updating its product lines and along the way has renamed several of it models.
The first to get rebranded was the American Deluxe Series which was renamed the American Elite Series. The next year the American Standard Series got a make over and became the American Professional Series. More recently the American Vintage Series took on the new moniker of the American Originals Series. Earlier in 2018 the humble Mexican made Standard Series got its make over and the Player Series was born. So as we close out 2018 the American Special’s are no more and the American Performers take to the stage.
