This was my first electric guitar when I got back  into playing. Even for a "cheap" copy it has a contoured body, EMG pickups and  through body strings.

A very nice guitar. Initially the string cover on the back  was white but I replaced it with a black one. I did intend to replace the white scratchplate witht a pearloid one but it need holes filling and new ones drilling so I never got around to it before it was sold.

AXL guitars is the parent company of Johnson, in 2011 they signed a deal with Fender to produce the Modern Player series of guitars for Fender at their factory in China.
