California Artist David Lozeau was commissioned by Fender in 2014 to produce designs that could be used as artwork for a limited edition run of Fender Stratocasters. He produced seven pieces and the first four were announced at the 2015 Winter NAMM show.
At the show he was on hand to talk about his Day of the Dead style art and also to paint three special pices incorporating the fender Strat. The first four designs issued were the Sacred Heart, Tree of Life, Rose Tattoo and Blue Dragon Stratocasters. Later in the year the VooDoo Priest Stratocaster was also released. Two designs never make into production, a Mariachi Band and a Octopus Tentacle design. David also designed two Stratocasters for the Fender Custom Shop, a Rat A Tat Tank Strat and a Rat a Tat Bomber strat.
