The Fender Telecaster was born in 1951 and celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2011. Originally called the Broadcaster, however the Fred Gretsch Company objected to Fender using the Broadcaster name, as they had a range of drums on the market using that name. They requested that Fender stop using the name and after a few models were released with just the Fender logo, no called, No-casters, the name Telecaster was born.
