The Pink Paisley Telecaster first emerged in the late sixties. Initailly the Pink Paisley design was only available on the Telecaster. Would you believe that the design was originally a wallpaper design!!!!
It was issued at the same time as Fender issued the Blue Flower Telecaster. They gave a Pink Paisley model to James Burton who was Elvis' guitarist at the time. He wasn't sure if the King was going to like it but Elvis was impressed. My guitar was purchased from a lady in London via Gumtree. She had bought it new from Dawsons Music in Manchester when she was working for the Dawsons branch in Warrington. She remembers buying it for her birthday back in 2002. Made of basswood, the neck and fretboard are made form maple. The pickgued is clear plexiglass with a blue tint around the neckmpickup hole so that it matcheds the rest of the guitars edging but also covers the neck pickup rout and truss rod access cutout. Below is a review of the Pink Paisley Telecaster and its companion Blue Flower Telecaster from May 2002.
