When Jimmy Eat World guitarist and frontman Jim Adkins collaborated with Fender in designing his perfect guitar, the result was his signature JA-90 Telecaster® Thinline guitar.
Fender craftsmen sat down with Adkins and went over his old Fender TC-90 spec by spec, making several important changes that subsequently produced this unique model. Features include a maple neck set into a semi-hollow ash body, Seymour Duncan® soap-bar pickups, independent volume and tone controls, Adjusto-Matic™ bridge and anchored tailpiece. The spec sheet includes a lightweight semi hollow Ash body with a comfortable modern-C profile Maple neck shape, a 24.75" scale length, a rosewood fingerboard (more recent versions come with the laurel fingerboard), 9.5” radius, medium jumbo frets and Fender tuners. Further appointments include an adjusto-matic bridge with anchored tailpiece, matching painted headstock, skirted amp knobs and 3-way switch positioned as it would be on a Gibson Les Paul. It comes equipped with two factory fitted sweet sounding Seymour Duncan P-90 pickups – a SP90-3 at the bridge and a SP90-1N RWRP vintage at the neck. The guitar is finished Crimson Red Transparent and was built in 2016. The guitar is in very good if not excellent condition with very very little playing wear and comes with a Fender gig bag.
