Squier Classic Vibe 50s Esquire FSR a limited edition run produced in 2019.
Originally announced at the 2019 winter NAMM Show the guitars were released in November 2019. They were produced in limited numbers for the European market only. Based on the Fender Esquire which was the forerunner to the Fender telecaster although they remained a separate model in the Fender Catalogue through to the late 1950s. The major difference from the Telecaster is that the Esquire only has one pickup. There were two pickup models produced but the one pickup version is the one that comes to mind when people mention the name Esquire. Although there is only one pickup the guitar still has a three way switch. The positions on the three way switch function as follows: Forward position: Is the pickup going through the volume control only bypassing the tome control but activating a tone roll off so giving the output a deeper more 'muddy' sound. Middle position: This is the pickup going through both the both the volume and tone controls the output is akin to a bridge pickup sound on a Telecaster. Rear position: This is the pickup going through the volume control and bypassing the tone control. |
