This weeks video features an overview & demo of my Fender American Special Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red. The American Special Series was introduced in January 2010 and is Made in America. Essentially the American Series range were introduced to replace the Highway One series that where Fender’s cheapest American made guitars. Sporting an Alder body finished with gloss urethane, it is has a 9.5” radius maple neck and fingerboard with medium jumbo frets, three Texas Special single coil pickups and a Greasebucket Tone Circuit. The pickups feature over wound Alnico V magnets. A large 70’s style jumbo headstock is a neat addition and it helps make this guitar stand out visually. Since it was introduced it has featured several finishes including the featured Candy Apple Red.
