The American Vintage '52 Reissue Telecaster was one of Fender's longest running models. It takes its roots from the Blackguard Telecaster of the early 1950's. In 2012 Fender decided to overhaul their entire range of American Vintage Reissues.
Referring back to some of the most complete examples of those early Telecaster's Fender has recaptured the essence of them with the new 2012 version of the American Vintage '52 Telecaster. The guitars come complete with the long forgotten recessed top barrel switch top, backerlite 5 hole pickguard, tweed hard case and period correct paperwork, a wiring kit is also included to return the controls to the 1950s spec and the legendary ashtray pickup cover. The package also includes a leather guitar strap and guitar cable. The finish is a new technique by Fender called 'flash coat laquer' that harks back to the finish of the 50s. The colour is also what many consider to be the closest yet to those early guitars. The first 46 models of each year also come complete with a commemorative 2012 1st 46 Special edition engraved neckplate. The American Vintage Series has since been renamed the American Originals Series. |
